# Setting the Java Version for Your Minecraft Java Server

Setting the Java version for your Minecraft Java Server is quite simple.
Here are the steps you need to follow:



## Step 1: Go to Startup settings

Open the **Startup** settings via the game panel.

## Step 2: Change the Docker image

At the top right under **Docker Image**, change the current Java version to the one you need.

## Step 3: Start or restart your server

* If your server is already running, restart it.
* If your server is not running yet, start it.

The server will automatically detect and apply the new Java version during startup.
